figli
why “figli”?
The name “figli”, meaning children in Italian, originates from my last name, “DiFiglia.” My family has always been my inspiration and muse.
why new & growing families?
I have always gravitated towards couples because there is so much connection between them to bring out through my lens. I originally fell in love with photography while capturing my sister’s engagement and before I knew it, my sister was married and announcing her pregnancy and my vision grew. As I captured moments of her throughout her journey, and as I watched as she and her husband became parents, the amount of love and awe I felt come out in my photos was palpable. Two years later, there is nothing I love more than documenting couples from the moment they get engaged, to the moment they bring their children into the world. I crave to capture this miraculous journey for families and give them the ability to tell a cohesive story from the day their family began.
are we a good fit?
Before booking, I always want to make sure that I am a good fit for your family. I shoot documentary style, which means I keep poses to a minimum. Instead, I will provide you with prompts and also encourage you to do things you do every day. Maybe our shoot will be a walk down the beach and you and your little ones can collect shells and build sand castles. Or maybe we will be at home dancing around the living room or baking cookies. You can expect your photos to tell a story and to have a sense of movement—some might even be blurry and out of focus! I also prefer to shoot at very specific times of day to embrace romantic golden hour colors and lens flares.
